Sipokazi Somzana
A dedicated advocate for empowerment and transformation, is the driving force behind Asta Social Work Services, a specialized private practice offering therapy,
mentorship, and coaching. Additionally, she founded Sipokazi Writes, an online platform committed to uplifting individuals through spoken and written words. With a background as a Child Protection Social Worker, Social Work Health Care Specialist, and her current role as a Community Development Manager for a Makhulong A Matala a subsidiary of Johannesburg Housing Company.
A recipient of the 2023 ACABA Award in the Christian Living category for her book “Young and Crazy in Love with Jesus,” Sipokazi hails from Flagstaff, Eastern Cape, South Africa, where her journey of faith and service began. Throughout her life, she has demonstrated leadership and compassion, evident in her roles as a Sunday school teacher, teens and youth teacher, University student mentor, and community leader.

As a mentor, coach, facilitator, counselor, and trainer, Sipokazi engages in various support groups, psychoeducation sessions, and skills development programs, focusing particularly on child protection initiatives, family initiatives, and safeguarding policy. A proud alumna of Nelson Mandela University and the University of Pretoria, she holds degrees in Bachelor of Social Work, with a Master’s in Social Work Healthcare. Currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa, Sipokazi continues her impactful work and has recently published her third book, “Heart Of Surrender-Moments With Daddy,” nominated for the ACABA 2025 Awards in the Devotional Category that will be held in Kenya, Africa.
